Cherry Pecan Bread

1/2 cup butter/margering - softened
3/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped pecans
10 oz/1 jar cherries - drained and chopped
1 tsp vanilla extract

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time... beating well after each addition. Combien fresh flour, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately w/ buttermilk. Stir in cherries, nuts and vanilla. Pour into a greased and floured 8x4x2 inch pan. Bake at 350 for 65-75 minutes.

** I've also made this with fresh cherries, no nuts... just added as many cherries as I felt like.**

(obtained from my mom's personal recipe book.)
