GINGER SNAPS

3/4 cups shortening
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp ginger

Cream shortening and sugar, add molasses and egg. Add SIFTED dry ingredients, mix well. Roll in small balls, dip in sugar and flatten w/ bottom of glass. (Dip glass in sugar.) Bake at 375 for 10-15 minutes.
